Well it was inevitable ... Ryan has been surrounded by sick friends at school and we marveled how he escaped all the illnesses. Turns out he didn't. Bill went to pick him up from the bus yesterday and was greeted by a pale, feverish boy with a very "hurting tummy" (to quote Ryan). Apparently he has been bit by some bug.
Today he, Anna and I are home (and incidentally at 2:37 pm still in our jammies -- hee hee hee) while we nurse Ryan back to health. The chicken noodle soup from lunch seems to have been just what the doctor ordered as he seems more like himself and his fever at last temp check was gone. With luck he can head back to school tomorrow. I don't think he missed a single day last year so he was on quite a roll attendance-wise.
Lucky for me I just wrapped up some bigger projects at work so my absence today is a minor inconvenience that getting in early tomorrow and working efficiently will (hopefully) easily fix. I am sure I just jinxed myself!
